Monstera

Known more for the unusually large and beautiful leaves, few people notice the prickly green fruit that grow close to the base of the plant.  When the fruit becomes soft and more of a light green color, that is when it is edible.  The outer husk falls away like tiny corn like pebbles, and it is the cob that you eat. Flavor is a cross between a banana and a pineapple.
